Vincenza "Ginnie" Harris

d. September 2, 2022

Vincenza “Ginnie” Harris passed away peacefully in the embrace of her daughter at her home in Southampton, NJ on Friday, September 2nd. Ginnie was 91 years old and is survived by her two children, Charney L. Harris, Jr. and Karen R. Antosca (Joseph). She is also survived by her 4 grandchildren: Adam Harris (Kate), Lindsay Kluttz (Jesse), Cara DeChristopher (Daniel) and Lauren Harris (Michael). Ginnie also adored her 6 great- grandchildren: Charney Patrick, Ellie Nadine, Leah Grace, Madalyn Jinny, Gavin Wesley & Ashlynn Rose. Vincenza now joins her husband Charney L. Harris, her father Francesco (Frank) Sorrentino, her mother Emma Jordan-Hilgartner, her stepfather Herbert Hilgartner and her brother Mauro Sorrentino in heaven. From the projects of Baltimore, MD, Vincenza danced her way up and out as a professional Vaudeville performer. Known in the dance world as “Ginnie Sears”, she spoke often of her travels and experiences, remembering her time spent performing in Canada particularly fondly. Later in years, Ginnie worked as a Stenographer in her hometown, where she and her husband raised their family. Her presence onstage and in the workplace, however, paled in comparison to the impact she had on her family and friends. To know Ginnie was to know warmth and tenderness. Her crystal-blue eyes could make anyone who she came across feel instantly welcome and cared for. Ginnie also enjoyed a good book and a good recipe. Cooking for her family was a passion of hers and was one of the many ways she expressed love. Gentle by nature, her family will always remember Ginnie as their unwavering matriarch with a compassion and devotion to those she loved. Vincenza’s immediate family will be celebrating her memory together in early October in her hometown of Baltimore, MD.
