Maryalice Jones May

Maryalice Jones May, 61 years old Born Dec 10, 1956, died April 13, 2018 Maryalice Jones May, the daughter of the late Marie Reinhart Jones and Charles N. Jones Jr. died at home surrounded by her family. She grew up in Chestnut Hill, attending Our Mother of Consolation, Cardinal Dougherty High School, and Penn State where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education. She moved to England for seven years where she taught and where both of her children were born. In 1987, they moved to Lowell, MA and Maryalice held a number of teaching positions including twelve years at St Margaret School in Lowell. In 2007, she moved back to Chestnut Hill and became a nanny to two very special families. Maryalice was elected as a “student director” for the Chestnut Hill Community Association serving for a couple years on the board. She was a loving daughter, mother, sister and educator her whole life. She is survived by her two children and their partners, Kathryn May (partner: David Czarnecki), of Philadelphia; Antony May (wife, Molly McCarthy May) of Green Acres Florida; and her siblings: Charles J. Jones (Beth Enders Jones) of Conshohocken; Christopher H. Jones (Shelley Spear Jones) of Conshohocken; and Kathleen M. Jones of Huntingdon, PA, along with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Friends are welcome to visit the family on Saturday, April 21st from 4 – 6 PM with a brief service at 5:30 PM at Jacob F. Ruth’s Funeral Home, Philadelphia, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the charity of your choice in Maryalice’s name.
