Mary "Murph" Wagman

Our beloved mother Mary Ann Wagman went home to Heaven on July 29, 2023 at age 74. Mary lived a full and warm life, filled with love, happiness, and a fat cat. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed. On May 6, 1949 God blessed the world with Mary “Murph”, born to Robert and Mary Ann Henry, making the world a little brighter. Murph was the eldest born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School on June 8, 1968. Mary met her husband, Lawrence “Larry” Wagman in 1967 in Philadelphia. They were married three years later in January 1970 and went on to have two children, David and Christopher. In 1972, they moved to Sicklerville, New Jersey to raise their family. In addition to being a dedicated and loving Grammy, Mary also loved working in her garden, reading books and the newspaper, and shopping the clearance racks. She enjoyed watching Jeopardy, CNN, and golf. She will be remembered for wearing silly outfits on Christmas, wearing at least four layers of clothing in winter, and never leaving the house without her hat. While this is the end of Mary’s physical life on Earth, it’s the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for her as she entered God’s Kingdom. Mary joins her husband Larry, her son Dave, her parents Robert and Mary Ann, and her siblings Patsy and John in Heaven. She is survived by her beloved son Christopher Wagman (Chantel), cherished grandson Marcus Wagman, loving siblings Robert Henry (Jeanne), Betsy Hesdon (Phillip), Joanne O’Neill (Robin), brother and sister-in law Harvey and Arlene Wagman, nephews and nieces Jeffrey, Robert, Maureen, Jennifer, Phillip, Stephen, and Michael, and a hungry kitty named Honey. We request that all of Mary’s loved ones to join us in celebration of her life on Monday, August 21, 2023 at Jacob F. Ruth Funeral Directors, 8413 Germantown Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19118. Visitation at 10 AM, funeral service at 11 AM. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3301 W. Cheltenham Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19150.
