John Joseph Byrnes

John Joseph Byrnes (69) of Mt Airy (Philadelphia PA) passed away on the evening of Monday, March 7, 2022. He was the son of the late John and Helen Byrnes. He is survived by his sisters Helen and Susan and brother Thomas. John was a self-employed carpenter and woodworker who worked extensively in the Northwest section of Philadelphia. He was an avid bicyclist and enjoyed rooting for the various Philadelphia sports team, especially the Eagles. He also loved spending time with his niece (Kathryn) and nephew (Joseph). John was a long-time member of the Chestnut Hill Bocce club and took great joy in cooking hotdogs at the annual 4th of July celebration which the club sponsored. There will be a private service for the family and a public remembrance is being planned for later in the Spring.
