George Woodward, III

George Woodward III, of Philadelphia, died on March 7, 2022. He was 85. Mr. Woodward was the son of the late Charles H. and Elizabeth Prioleau Gadsden Woodward. He was an alumnus of Chestnut Hill Academy. He worked at G. Woodward Company and then the Woodward House Corporation for over 55 years. He was President of the Woodward House Corporation for 8 years. At different points in his life, Mr. Woodward was a faithful Phillies fan, and also participated in a bowling league, but his true love was fishing. He was an avid fisherman, who loved to fish in competitions from the Florida Keys to the New Jersey Coast. Mr. Woodward had a vacation home in Avalon and many friends both in Philadelphia and Avalon. Mr. Woodward was predeceased by his sister, Quita Woodward Horan. He is survived by his nephew, Charles Woodward and his grandniece, Hayes Hamilton Woodward. A private burial will be held at St. Thomas Church in Flourtown, PA.
