Francis J. Ney (“Frank”), age 91, on April 30, 2018, of St. Mary Manor in Lansdale. Known to his nieces and nephews as “Unc,” he lived on Campbell Lane in Wyndmoor for most of his life. In 2004 he moved to St. Mary Manor in Lansdale with his wife Peggy (Margaret O’Neill Bergen Ney). Frank served in the U.S. Navy, Pacific Theater, during the last year of World War II as a Fire Controlman 3rdClass on the U.S.S. Southerland. After the war, he worked as a technician at the KYW-TV transmitter in Roxborough for over 30 years. Frank married late in life, at age 59. He met his wife Peggy (a widow) through his neighbors. Frank and Peggy had such a good time at their wedding reception that they had a “redo” reception the next year on their first anniversary. It was a very happy marriage. A fan of the Phillies and Eagles, Frank enjoyed baseball games at Connie Mack stadium, playing piano, and spending time with his family and Peggy’s family. He visited Europe with his parents; New England with his mother, sister, nephew, and niece; and Bermuda and Ocean City, NJ, with Peggy. Frank is survived by two nephews and two nieces: Richard T. Hallowell (wife Lori Hallowell) of Gilbertsville, PA;Jamie C. Hallowell (wife Toshal Hallowell) of Boylston, MA;Rosanne F. Hallowell (husband William Boehm) of Jenkintown, PA;Patricia L. Grisafi of Lansdale, PA. He also had five grandnephews and three grandnieces.He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret; his sister Mary Ney Hallowell, of Lansdale, PA (and her husband, John J. Hallowell), and by his parents, Henry Ney and Catharine McHugh Ney. Relatives and friends may call at St. Mary Manor Chapel, 701 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, PA 19446, Monday, May 7, 2018, at 10AM.
