Bridget Feeney Sharpe of Philadelphia, PA was born on March 10 (a redundant fact for those who knew her!), 1944 in Swinford, County Mayo, Ireland and died May 20, 2023. She spent her adolescence in the Olney section of Philadelphia. For the majority of her life, she happily lived in Mount Airy with her loving husband of 59 years, Thomas J. Sharpe, and their five children: Seamus, Erin Mills (Joseph), Bridget Yanni (Tom Dennery), Tommy (deceased), and Ciaran Bellwoar (Robert). Bridget was a doting “mommom” and “didit” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren: Angela, Rian (Reeny), Rachel, Aurora, Nadia, Gavin, Bobby, Sabrina, Adayzha, Sofia, Adalina, Magnus, and Aine. She was the eldest of 10 brothers and sisters who she adored across the miles: Agnes, Mary, Michael, Anne, Margaret, John, Kevin, Tommy, and Joan. And, yes, her love extended to her many nieces and nephews. Her in-laws welcomed her with open arms: Peggy (Bill), Tishy (J.P.), Niecy, and Lori (John). She now joins Sonny. Bridget was a strong, beautiful woman who will be missed by all. She will always be remembered for her love of the family, friends, the Phillies, lipstick, her birthday, a good hair style, shoes, knitting, and buttons – not necessarily in that order (Novenas were said for the first three). Her laugh was infectious. Her smile glowed. Her hugs were unforgettable. She was a treasured icon of Holy Cross Parish. She began working in the rectory as the housekeeper and was so very proud when she was asked to take on the role of secretary. For years she enthusiastically organized the annual Irish Night Beef and Beer with fellow parishioners.
