Alan Russell Ford, Sr.

Alan Russell Ford, Sr., age 87, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at home on September 19, 2023. Al was born on October 25, 1935 to Mildred and Russell Ford.

In addition to family, trucking was his life. He was an employee of Arco and Sunoco Oil Refinery as a driver for 30 plus years and was known as the “Truck Doctor” by his co-workers. Al retired in 1997. He loved music, hunting and watching the commercial fishing boats unload their catch of the day in Cape May.

Forever loved by his wife Sandra of 67 years, as well as his children Russell (Kim) Ford, Diane (Robert) Terry, Wayne (Janine) Ford, Dawn (Gary Hall) Geary, Denise (Albert) Paone, his grandchildren Doug, Dana, Tyler, Ryan, Vince, Jason, Drew, Maddie, Mara, Devyn, Aiden, Wyatt, Ethan, his great grandchildren Ryan Rae, Grayson, Enzo, River and Ella. Predeceased by his daughter, Tonietta Catherine. Also survived by his brothers Robert and Eugene and his brother-in-law Ed and sisters Barbara and Joan. Predeceased by his sisters Peggy and Carol.

Please join us to celebrate his life with a visitation on Friday, September 22^nd at 11:00AM followed by a service at 12:00 at Jacob F. Ruth’s, 8413 Germantown Ave., Phila., PA 19118.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association or Children’s Hospital of Philadelpia.
